What is chronic pain? 

Chronic pain is considered pain that persists or recurs for more than three months. It can be a symptom of an underlying condition like arthritis or endometriosis, or it can be a complex condition on its own, like fibromyalgia.

Unlike acute pain, which signals an injury, chronic pain can be constant and is often a result of the nervous system continuously sending pain signals even after an initial injury has healed. It can also be accompanied by emotional distress and functional limitations, such as fatigue, anxiety, and sleep problems.
